About This Product
The two plugs look the same and have the same mass, but the time the magnet takes to fall through the copper tube is greatly extended. Eddy currents induced in the copper generate a magnetic field that opposes the movement of the magnet. Plastic caps close the tube so the kit stores as one unit. The Eddy Current Kit is available for supply within India and for export to Sri Lanka, Kazakhstan, Brunei, United Kingdom and Papua New Guinea.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1. Why does the magnet take longer to fall through the tube?
Eddy currents induced in the copper generate a magnetic field which opposes the movement of the magnet, greatly extending the time taken to fall.
